Sweet Spot

I've been the silent other half for quite a while. Guess I'm not as thoughtful as my wife is. The world tends to just go by for me.

But I do have to share that marriage has been a real rewarding journey. We have definitely grown in the last 11 months. What I've found is that my wife is becoming more and more beautiful as she continues to grow in the Lord. I can only pray that I've been growing in the same direction.

So now we're at quite a comfortable place. Ee calls it the Sweet Spot. We're spending enough time together, learning to bless each other spiritually and also beginning to spend more time with family, close friends, fellowship and people God brings into our lives. We've also settled into a happy equilibrium with regard to housework. We'll do it together as often as we can and it takes no more than an hour or so. Ee let's me watch football, golf, tennis and I happily yield the tv control when it comes to 10pm and the taiwanese drama is on.

Married life is putting the other person before you. Not natural because of our fallen natures but ever so essential. There is no more "you" and "I". But in its place, "us". We glory together, we commiserate together. Every victory and every setback is shared.

I've learnt a lot in the last 11 months. Looking forward to learning a lot more in the Lord. Thanks to my wife and her honesty, faithfulness, discipline and love, we're gaining momentum on our marriage railroad, chugging along to our first anniversary station.

Thank you Jesus for giving me my better half, and walking this journey with us.
