Fairytales Gone Wrong

Was looking forward to attending my first Halloween Horrors after hearing so much about this much anticipated event for all trick or treaters. Donning our witches hats, we proceeded to check out the ghostly happenings at Night Safari.

Aptly themed "Fairytales Gone Wrong", it was quite amusing watching Cinderella walk around with a glass slipper on top of her head or Snow White looking positively ghastly as she strolled around clutching her red apple.

Dinner wise, we feasted on Halloween-themed goodies (which thankfully didn't look too abnormal) and drank interestingly named concoctions while being 'scared' by characters dressed up in their best trick or treating attire.

Finally, we got on-board the tram where we were promised scary encounters while being regaled with evil laughter. *clutches camera tightly and peers around apprehensively*

Must confess, the anticipation of being scared was worse than the actual scare. Silly me had this misconceived notion that we would be frightened continually throughout the 45 min tram ride. This proved to be a false assumption as the Halloween section was only at the end. In fact, I was so busy fretting that sneaky Chawan the elephant managed to spray water at me before I could duck. *sniffs resignedly at herself*

When we finally reached the themed section within the park, I was too tired and stinky (no thanks to Chawan) to take pictures. However, it was quite alarming to see zombies crawling out of their coffins, spy poor little mermaid get chopped up by the fishmonger (don't think I can look at steamed fishes in the same light again) as well as catch Pontianak walking around lifelessly with a baby. Thankfully, I wasn't sitting in the section of the tram where these actors could lunge at you. Nevertheless, I was still cowering in a corner while my camera lay forgotten. *pats palpitating heart*

Anyways, will let the pictures speak for themselves:

All set to be part of the Halloween action...

Posing with fellow trick or treaters...

Playing around with all the 'dolls'...

Beaming with the gothic bride...didn't get to see the rest of Addams family

A cast that was more amusing than scary...

Dessert: Lychee eyeballs with strawberry sauce (in the syringe) on chocolate heart

Although some might find it quite disturbing to see how twisted our much beloved fairytales have become, it was a nice night out trick or treating. *happily munches on snickers bar*
