In view of the new attractions opening at Sentosa, we dutifully trooped down to check them out. A detailed account as follows:
Wave House™ Sentosa
For all surfers (professional or otherwise) out there, this beachfront venue allows one to experience the joys of surfing on their Double FlowRider® and the ultimate 10-foot FlowBarrel™.
Although the attraction was in the midst of being constructed when we visited, the owners kindly showed us how this wave machine worked. Suffice to say, we were quite awed by the waves that were created at the mere switch of a button.
If surfing is not quite your cup of tea, contented beach bums can opt to grab a drink at their bar and check out all those bikini babes and chest baring hunks.
Sentosa Nature Discovery
Housed in a former monorail station, this attraction seeks to engage children in a journey of discovery about nature. Offering a mix of interactive exhibits as well as a forest boardwalk, it is a good educational activity for families.

Situated on a hilltop jungle, this adventure park offers a range of challenges catering to newbies (like me) as well as the true adrenaline junkie. The series of challenges include:
(1) ClimbMax - a specially constructed tree-top aerial obstacle where one can choose from three different heights and difficulty levels, navigating wobbly bridges, balancing across tight-ropes as well as scrambling along cargo nets up to 12 metres in the air.
Although we were attached to a safety line, there were a few nerve wrecking moments as I gingerly made my way through the various obstacles. It was alot harder than expected and there were moments when I was very very tempted to just give up. The hardest challenge for me was the 'swaying steps'. I was literally dripping in sweat when I was done and my arms ached for days. Positively speaking, this was one great arm workout but it might be a while before I return.
(2) ParaJump - Called to take a leap of faith, this challenge is an exhilarating 15-metre simulated free-fall and one is promised an addictive adrenaline rush. I decided to opt out as I could barely walk straight much less step off the platform post ClimbMax. According to a colleague though, it wasn't as scary as it seemed.
(3) MegaZip - Touted as Asia’s “most extreme” zip line, this flying fox ride is over 450 metres long and can potentially reach a speed of 50kmph. Starting 72 metres above the sea in a tree-top tower on Mount Imbiah, we were sent screaming (and spinning) down as we attempted to dodge palm trees and stray branches. This was the key highlight for me and it made all the grief I suffered during the ClimbMax worthwhile.
Navigating the ClimbMax!
The swaying steps that were the bane of my life...
