In line with the Christmas spirit, we had strict instructions to dress in theme. Dutiful friends that we were, much time was spent discussing what we could do and wear leading up to the actual day. In fact, we were almost going to be Santarinas until my pregnant friend highlighted that she could not possibly fit into the outfit. We finally decided to be angels (with wings and wands to boot!) as we prepared to show these xiong dis that we were not to be messed with, angelic demeanour aside.
Unfortunately, I don't think we held up very well in the negotiations. However, I guess the point isn't to win. =P
Nevertheless, we made sure that this brunch of brudders did enough to pass and believe the most stressful moment was when the groom had to create a scrapbook for his bride by writing appropriate declarations in sync with the pictures we had 'helpfully' put in.
Getting ready...with Brownie the dog looking out in anticipation of their arrival
Edging in for a photo before mayhem ensues..those wings turned out better than expected although we had a tendency to bump into one another (no prizes for guessing why).
Peering over to check on progress....
Finally, the all white cars entourage pull up and we gear up for battle...
After much haggling and getting them to sing "nobody nobody but chooo", the groom enters wearing a Jay Chou face mask...
In view of the Christmas-themed wedding, we put on our santa hats and prepared to do our job at the registration table
I guess this can still look cute when one is sufficiently younger?
As you can tell, most of us made an effort to dress in theme including Santa's elves dancing in to Mariah Carey's All I want for Christmas is You.
Somehow weddings always make me tear (more so after my own wedding). For me, the most touching moment was when the bride walked into the ballroom serenading the groom before the solemnization. It was just a very very sweet moment.
P.S To all those naysayers, this post made it before the couple's first anniversary. *pffty*
