White Rabbit Shower

As our friend was going to be away for a year, we decided to do a farewell cum baby shower at the much raved about restaurant, White Rabbit. Located in a restored chapel off Dempseys, the restaurant appeared quite promising for our Saturday girly lunch.

Although there were innovative offerings like the chef's re-interpretation of mac and cheese, the food fell short of my expectations. Granted that our orders were always prettily presented, the food looked more appetizing than its taste and I can't quite recall any memorable mains or desserts although it is a year later. Nice ambience and decor aside, it was also not the most value for money lunch and the portions were teeny by my standards.

Nevertheless, I'm glad this made it to my been there, ate there dining list while it was the fellowship that made this a really enjoyable day out. So yes, although the baby we showered gifts with is now 8 months old, still think it's a blogworthy lunch to remember in view of our (thoughtfully bought) gifts:

Pretty presentations [from bottom left, clockwise]: Baked sea scallops, Wild mushroom pasta, White Rabbit Mac and Cheese, Nutelle crepe and Creme brulee

Happy mommy to-be showing off the very useful bib (isn't it ingenious to have a 'basin' for dropped food) and cute baby wear as well as accessories.

15 years of friendship and counting...
Can't wait for our next meet up in March 2011. =)
