Of Celebrations and Feastings

This was a busy long weekend for us as we had back to back weddings in addition to loads of feasting. No thanks to greedy me, I think I need a break from all things chocolatey for a while. *rubs chocolate laden tummy*

Anyhow, K&S's wedding was a really fun and flamboyant affair (the groom was dressed in a baroque top and bermudas!) while I appreciated the opportunity to get to know the couple better through the eyes of their friends. In fact, both couples had really cute wedding pictures (S paired her gown with track shoes while G&A had very retro outfits).

Post these weddings, I experienced a bout of wedding envy as I tried to recall why I had never thought to have a dessert buffet for our wedding dinner too. Oh well..perhaps when we get to our Golden Anniversary if we are not diabetic by then.
*wistful sniffs*

Working our way through the 4-course dinner at Marina Bay Sands: Unfortunately, my photos ended at the first course aptly titled Medley of Trio comprising lobster tail jelly, honey glazed smoked duck breast, crab cakes and a few other pint size offerings. Love the bread which was a great complement to the second course, roasted corn and clam chowder.

The dinner ended with a truly awesome dessert buffet that left me spinning around as I rapidly filled my plate with all things chocolate and plotted my second round for the fondue items.

Next night, we were regaled with another gorgeous dessert buffet that I once again made my way through as efficiently as possible. Love the couple's creative pictures.

Besides the eating, was struck by the lyrics of a lovely song that G regaled his wife with:

I Will Be Here(Steven Curtis Chapman)

Tomorrow morning if you wake up
and the sun does not appear
I will be here
If in the dark, we lose sight of love
Hold my hand, and have no fear
'Cause I will be here

I will be here
When you feel like being quiet
When you need to speak your mind
I will listen
And I will be here
When the laughter turns to cryin'
Through the winning, losing and trying
We'll be together
I will be here

Tomorrow morning, if you wake up
And the future is unclear
I will be here
Just as sure as seasons were made for change
Our lifetimes were made for these years
So I will be here

I will be here
And you can cry on my shoulder
When the mirror tells us we're older
I will hold you
And I will be here
To watch you grow in beauty
And tell you all the things you are to me
I will be here
I will be true to the promise I have made
To you and to the One who gave you to me

Tomorrow morning, if you wake up
And the sun does not appear
I will be here
Oh, I will be here.

Somehow, weddings always make me sentimental. *sniffles*
