All Things Japanese

Been having a Japanese cuisine moment and the following restaurants were a quick fix (albeit temporarily) especially when one is seeking value for money meals.

Ichiban Tei, Robertson Quay

This has traditionally been my ramen place of choice when I'm craving for a bowl of piping hot ramen. Although the ramen can't quite compare to Tampopo@Liang Court, this still makes a satisfying meal especially after a loooong day at work.

Tucking into flavourful bowls of ramen with a nicely stewed egg in addition to fresh sashimi and grilled squid.

Japanese Gourmet Town, Vivo City

This food town houses three restaurants: Ajisen ramen (from Kyushu), Bokonomiyaki (from Osaka) and Sapporo curry yoshimi (from Hokkaido). Hence, if one has difficulty deciding on what to eat or simply a lover of variety (like me!), this would make a great stop.

Although the soup curry concept sounds alittle strange, it was actually quite a tasty option. However, the portion size could be re-tweaked slightly as it was so teeny that I was almost done even before the other 2 dishes arrived.

Mains [from bottom left, anti-clockwise]: Seafood Soup Curry, Moonlight special okos (a osaka-style pancake made of shredded cabbage while the moonlight represents the sunny side egg on top) and possibly some omu soba (omelette covered noodle with stir-fried pork)

It's time for a trip to Japan...

Post note: In view of my terribly delayed updates, it's getting quite difficult to remember restaurants which I visited over 2 months ago. Hence, do bear with my vague reviews (for some less memorable dishes) as I had difficulty even trying to recall how they tasted.
