Season of Weddings

Know I have been really quiet on my blog as a result of work, busy weekends as well as sheer laziness. Ever since I lost the momentum to blog, weeks have turned into months and I'm now 2 months behind time.
As I stare at all my outstanding 'edit mode' posts, I'm beginning to wonder whether I can even remember enough to finish up my own thoughts. Alas I shall press on. *dusts aside cobwebs*

The last time I left off, it was a season of weddings and was glad that my friend's BIG DAY was finally here in view of her escalating stress levels. Think it was a relief for her to reach the last leg and know that a honeymoon as well as some much needed rest was beckoning!

As a jie-mei and church wedding coordinator, I was also alittle stressed that something might not run according to plan. Thankfully, everything worked out fine thanks to B's really organized ways. Basically, I was given a box for the 'church' part and I just needed to set everything up according to the admin programme.

All was good until a heart stopping moment when I didn't know how to tie the wedding bands to the cushion and the clock was ticking. In fact, the last time I looked at wedding bands was at my own wedding! Thankfully, the photographer was really experienced and he skillfully took over. *phew*

In spite of my meagre wedding experience, this was one of the most civilized jie-mei activities I have participated in thus far. The guys had scrumptious welcome food to eat and the groom was asked to say something nice about the bride that reflects the item he was eating. For example, she is as wholesome as the tau sar pau.
[Note: This is just a hypothetical example as I can't remember the actual words since it was so long ago!]

There was also a crossword puzzle to finish and it was quite amusing to see a bunch of doctors gathering around to figure out the bride's body mass. These were hard questions that required some brainpower and not just about the bride's likes and dislikes!

The day's activities as follows:

Morning ragging and our lovely thank you goodie bag. There was alot of effort put into our gifts and never knew B was such a 贤妻良母!

Church wedding: everything was finally in place to welcome the bride and we had alot of fun blowing the numerous bubbles for her march-out.

Check out the pretty looking wedding favours as well as the delightful dessert which we attempted to make space for in spite of our full tummies.

14 years later from those school girl days...

Now I'm just counting down to our friend's wedding in December!
