Stopping at Spruce

In search of a nice lunch, we headed to Spruce to check out the hype as well as enjoy an idyllic meal. Located in a pretty black and white bungalow, the patio is great for al fresco dining. However, one might find this a tad uncomfortable especially on a scorchingly hot afternoon.

Food wise, the starters were fairly interesting and the sweet onion crepes was surprisingly scrumptious. It was also a pleasure to plough my way through the Spruce burger (with all the works!) while we munched on the handcut chips. The mushroom risotto with truffled hen egg was also a must try! This would definitely be one of the dishes worth returning for.

Making sure we had room for desserts, we were thankful that it was worth the stomach space although the sorbet was a tad too tart for my liking. Nevertheless, one can never go wrong with brownie bits especially when accompanied with loads of fudge. *beams*

Starters: Spruce Ahi Tuna Tartar with Toasted Ciabatta and Avocado and Sweet Onion Crepes with White Truffle Fonduta

Mains [starting from left, clockwise]: The Spruce Burger with Havarti Cheese with bacon, Mushroom Risotto with Truffled Hen Egg and
Tagliatelle with Kurobuta Bolognese, Chilli and Fresh Basil

Desserts: Steamed Ginger Date Pudding with Chocolate Toffee Sauce

Dessert 2: The Spruce Sundae with Valrhona Fudge Sauce and Brownie Bits

It is amazing how a nice lunch is always able to perk me up and definitely makes a work day so much more sustainable.
