After raving about the chips with chilli crab dip at Queen of Mangosteen in an earlier entry, I had resolved to make a return trip and work my way through the rest of the menu.
2 months later, I continue to delight in this gourmet pub especially when there's a beer to nurse and a variety of nibbles to pick on.
Once again, the slightly Asianized pub grub appealed to my palate. What stood out this time was the fish and chips with curry tartare sauce while the onion rings on top of the HUGE bangers was a crunchy delight. The crab cakes were also a great complement to our token healthy salad which helped to even out all that oil.
Ploughing our way through [from left, clockwise]:Fish & Chips with Curry Tartare Sauce, Bangers & Mash served with Caramelised Onion Gravy and Rope-grown Blue Mussels cooked in Chilli served with Freshly Baked Rolls
And of course....what better way than a beer to wash down all those calories. It was a great way to wind down the Sunday and prepare for a new week of work. *beams happily*
