Dining with Dad

One knows that the economy (and everyone) must be doing well when after making calls to 5 restaurants, I am still reservation-less. After one eatery deigned to offer me a table for 2 at 1.15 pm (I was asking for noon and 4 pax), I was tempted to just send my parents in. Nevertheless, I continued to persevere and a not too hopeful me decided to try my luck at db bistro. Imagine my amazement when I somehow managed to score a table. *victory dance*

After my last positive experience, I was looking forward to having my own burger (NO SHARING!). This time though, I opted for the less decadent Frenchie burger which is a "Beef Patty Topped with Confit Pork Belly, Caramelized Onions, Morbier Cheese, Arugula, Cornichons served on a Black Pepper Bun". *yum*

My dad selected an off the menu brunch item, "Maple apple sausage with breakfast potatoes" which he rather enjoyed and Ed's seafood casserole was quite good too! My mom was persuaded to order the db original burger and in spite of her no carbo protests, think she really liked the fries (and parmesan bun).

Our mains where minimal sharing is allowed [from top-right, clockwise]: Frenchie burger, db original burger, maple apple sausage with breakfast potatoes and sunny-side up egg, Casserole with mussels, shrimps, clams and chorizo.

Saving space for dessert (as always): Profiteroles (with marshmellows peeking out) and superb flourless chocolate cake with chocolate sorbet and vanilla ice cream

Stumbling upon Dali's Melting Time sculpture

Although it was a sleep-inducing lunch, just looking at all this food makes me hungry again...

Happy Father's Day to all fathers and fathers to be! =)
