"A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing." - George Bernard Shaw
Had an opportunity to attend ScreenSingapore's Closing Gala Asia Pacific premiere: Larry Crowne at the newly renovated Lido. Movie excerpt as follows:
A romantic and optimistic comedy about how the hard knocks from today’s recession inspire one everyday guy to undergo a personal reinvention when he is unexpectedly fired from his job. However, Larry Crowne (Tom Hanks) does not give up on life and decides to head back to local college and start over. At college, he nurses a crush on the Professor (Julia Roberts) of his public speaking class who is also in a position where her dreams are not coming to fruition the way she pictured them.
Helmed by Oscar winning artistes, it was a heartwarming, Forrest Gump sort of story thanks to the excellent acting. So glad we made it that Sunday even though it was work for the other half.
To top it off, I managed to catch a glimpse of Tom Hanks and his brief address made me realize why these stars are paid millions. They are really effortlessly engaging and starworthy. Although I know I'm too old for this, do wished there had been an opportunity to grab a picture with him.
Enough from me....go catch this movie when it hits our screens this July!
