Pausing at PS. Cafe

For our usual Saturday brunch, we decided to step out of our comfort zone and try PS. Cafe at Ann Siang Hill. While a tad apprehensive, this turned out to be one of our better choices where we had great food in a fabulous setting.

Tucked away on top of a (small) hill, there was a kind of hush as one stepped into its cool "very English" interiors. It also helps that no whiny, screaming children are allowed. Although they don't accept reservations for brunch, was still able to get a table thanks to the mid-morning downpour.

As this was my first time there, will not dwell on my favourites (yet). However, it was one of those places where we wanted to try almost everything on the menu and spent a long time dithering from item to item.

In terms of memorable foodie highlights, we really enjoyed pigging out on the shoestring truffle fries (this could potentially be better than House) while my Croque Madame was satisfying (how bad can ham and cheese taste?). I am salivating just thinking again about what we had.

Brunch delights [from top left, clockwise]: Truffle shoestring fries with shaved cheese, Croque Madame comprising of french sounding ham and cheese on sourdough bread topped with a fried egg,  Blackout Cake with Vanilla ice cream and generously sized Chorizo (pork sausage) & Eggs with asparagus and portobello mushroom.
Although the final bill was alittle shocking, overall a place that I would return to for brunch, lunch and/or dinner.
