A Taste of Korea

Having heard much about the more than decent Korean cuisine in Beijing, we hopped down to Wang Jing aka Korea Town to explore further. With the help of Dian Ping (China's equivalent of HungryGoWhere), we checked out Zi Xia Men (紫霞门韩国料理) to try their grilled meats. And pig out we did, from ox tongue to various beef cuts, it was one happy night and many contented bellies. Definitely a restaurant I would return or bring guests in town to.

And this was the start of our personal mission to hunt down good Korean eats, which we found in a more accessibly located Ai Jiang Shan (爱江山). With great lunch deals, decent kimchi pancake and hot pots, it's another great place to head to for affordable meals.

Unfortunately, my pictures are not as droolworthy as I would like them to be. But I think you get my drift:

Prelude to dinner: loads of free starters as usual and even the free seafood pancake was good.

Carnivores that we were enjoyed all our meat selections while it definitely helped to have the above cooking apparatus (refer to right picture) so that we don't emerge smelling like what we ate.

Ai Jiang Shan: as ravenous as we might have been, it didn't hamper our judgement on the quality and taste.

Ma-si-sseo (It's delicious)!

Post note: According to my Korean classmates, Korean food in Beijing is apparently as good as it gets. Will update more when I pressure invite them to bring me to their haunts.
