Getting the House in Shape

It's been a whirlwind of activity since we started extreme makeover home edition. From the selection of tiles to buying the necessary furniture to trying to decide on kitchen cabinet colours...this whole choosing of furnishings business can be quite tricky. Beginning to appreciate how everything in a condo just "appears". =)

Must confess that as I stared at the lights, it was tough having to differentiate AND visualize how they would look like in my living room, kitchen, bedroom. The light options seemed endless:

• spotlight
• concealed hidden lights (for that 'soft' look)
• milo-tin
• square
• round
• hanging

Even in terms of lighting, I could pick from cool, warm, warm-cool etc. *huh look*

When it came to toilet bowls, got even harder. Instead of just choosing which looks nicer, apparently the best way was to sit on each bowl to decide which was most comfortable. By the time I made it out of the shops, half an afternoon had flown by and I was getting alittle starry eyed.

Btw, it didn't just end there..we still had to figure out the electrical plan and decide on where the power points and light switches should be. Never knew that so much thought is needed even for the deceptively simple nitty gritty stuff. Don't we always assume the switches are "just there"? *bewildered look*
