Focus Areas for 2009

As the new year beckoned, thought it was timely to just note down some key focus areas for 2009. Looking ahead, I see this as a season of growth either on a personal OR work basis.

Personal goals:

1. Growing spiritually

Seeking to be more disciplined in spending quality time with God and re-finding a schedule that works within married life.

2. Being a supportive and praying wife.

Learning how to be more loving without expecting an ‘equivalent’ response. I definitely require more work in this area and it doesn't help that I'm not the most expressive/emotional person around.

3. Settling into my new church.

It has been alot better than expected adapting to Ed's church be it his cell group or even sunday service. Although I miss my youths as well as the fellowship, it is a new season for me and really, it's just about making new friends and building new memories.

4. Spending intentional time with various individuals.

Ironically, I actually see my parents more often post marriage than before. Looking ahead, would like to make a greater effort to spend time with them be it over meals or just hanging out. Friends wise, would definitely like to make time for close buddies whom I have grown up with and who have always been there for me. Rather than just leaving this as ad hoc opportunities, would like to intentionally schedule in appointments to catch up.

Work-wise, I have finally moved on to a new division after 3 years in Planning. It has been a memorable time and I have learnt to be a lot more organized in my thinking and paper writing. Will share more about this in a separate entry.

Looking ahead, there is an element of what's next? Whatever is in store for me, I would like to take this as a year of learning and to do my best at what is placed before me.

Here's to another eventful and memorable year!
