As I stand at the start of a new year and look back at the past, realised that this has been a very eventful and activity packed year mostly on the personal front.
Some key highlights of 2008 for me:
1. Building our dream home.
I had spent ALOT of time fretting over design decisions as well as writing numerous entries updating about the on-going progress of our home. I like to think of this as the Extreme Makeover saga.
Although I do have a list of "wished I had done this" items, we remain happy with the final outcome. Things definitely turned out better than expected and we will definitely try to open up our home more in the year to come.
2. Getting married.
In spite of my lamentations about the amount of work that went into this event and how I was glad it was over, it was good training ground for our relationship post marriage, learning how to make decisions TOGETHER and cultivate the art of consensus-building. Besides, it was good fun and also a great opportunity to really appreciate friendships as you see your friends scrambling around just for you. =)
My anxious bride-to-be ramblings can be found here and in case you missed out on THE BIG DAY, can get a recap here.
3. Adapting to married life.
The last quarter of the year was spent maintaining the house, learning how to be a wifey and adjusting to a new church. Must confess I never saw myself as being so ninny about housework or getting so conscientious about cleaning. BUT it's all been good and one can never be fully prepared for married life no matter how much preparation we might try to do pre-marriage.
A quick journey through 3 months of married life can be found here and my wifey (sometimes angsty) thoughts are reflected here.
Overall, it's been a good year with much to give thanks for! =)
