The Little Pleasures

It's great being able to head home to my parents' place every week for some good old fashion cantonese cooking! For Ed, this is his BEST meal (I'm NOT exaggerating here...) and he looks forward to being well fed every Monday.

Think it's the new son-in-law syndrome, but Ed gets like superb treatment whenever we are back for dinner. According to my dad, there's always MORE variety, MORE dishes and of course MORE rice. We believe that my mom actually gets abit stressed trying to think of new and different dishes to cook every week. However, no one is complaining in view that my dad benefits from the variety, while I get to drink my soup and Ed just gets fed. =)

Having said this, I'm really appreciative of my mom's efforts to serve us a scrumptious, healthy and nourishing meal. Whenever I step home, the wafting smells, the familiar sounds of my mom frying away makes me acutely aware that we are really fortunate to have some home cooking...

Our usual staple: soup, fish, veggie and another meat! Today's meal was extra satisfying for me as I absolutely adore the fishballs stuffed with minced meat. *salivates*

Wanted to showcase the amount of rice Ed has at EVERY seating but this photo is not doing the portion size justice. Simply put, Ed eats enough rice to feed my dad, mom and me.
