Live Seafood Rocks!

While I have been meaning to blog about Chin Huat, somehow the pictures never quite turned out the way I envisioned they should or the moment passed and laziness got the better of me. Recently, I got another opportunity to get better pictures courtesy of Ed's early birthday celebration with my parents. *hoorah*

Somehow, this has always been a place which Ed has a soft spot for. He never fails to stop and stare at the tanks filled with live seafood whenever we walk by and it's quite amusing to watch his childlike glee as he peers at the catch of the day ranging from geoducks to supersized garoupas. After dropping numerous hints on what he would like to eat for his birthday, Ed was one happy camper as he finally got to order what he wanted without being ignored by me.

True to form, their crabs didn't disappoint while the steamed bamboo clams were swoon worthy. The usuals like sea cucumber, honey pork ribs and 3-eggs veggie were also good tummy fillers.

Lavish seafood spread [top-right, clockwise] : sea cucumber and the works claypot,  honey ribs, 三杯鸡, 3-york (century, salted and normal egg) veggie, beef horfun and steamed bamboo clams with garlic

Crab happiness: chilli crab and mantou to mop all all that gravy

Next time round, shall definitely try the salted egg yolk or golden crab as raved about by ieatishootipost.
