A Taste of Japan

Located in sunny sunset way, Tenza Izakaya has a good array of yakitori selections (more than 100 apparently) and it was a delight to bite into succulent beef cuts and sinfully fatty pork slices. I like their seasonal offerings too and this time round, we tried Japanese cockles (supersized local versions) done sashimi style. First spotted this at Tsukiji market and we jumped at the opportunity get a taste of Japan once again. Moreover, the garlic fried rice was really fragrant and flavourful. *satiated sighs*

Their set lunches (which are available on weekends too!) are good value and for $18-25 one gets side dishes ranging from sashimi to tempura and mini bowls of either ramen, tempura/oyako don or chirashi. With beers and sake at 50% off on weekends, what's there not to like? =)

Oishi small plates [from top-left, clockwise]: ikura, beef, pork slices, garlic fried rice, chicken wings, scallops and a maki roll.

Sashimi galore: mixed platter to Japanese cockles and fatty tuna!

Good value set lunches: chirashi bowl, tempura, fruit bowl and beef noodles
