Hitting the Roadhouse

For a quiet afternoon lunch, we decided to try the newly opened Roadhouse at Dempseys (under the Prive Group). Boasting upmarket diner food, their grilled meals are all cooked on the Josper Grill, which is supposedly able to seal in the natural moisture and flavour of the meats.

Honestly, while the burgers were decent, thought they were too oily especially in view of my weaker stomach these days. However, they did have a number of grilled selections which I hope to return for: baby back ribs and the suckling piglet. Do wish we had more stomach space and time to try the desserts as well.

Price-wise, the lunch sets are quite good value (~$15++) and it's a nice place for quiet conversations and a great hideaway from the maddening Orchard crowd.

Juicy burgers [from top to bottom]: My 'simple' beef patty topped with cheese while my lunch kaki opted for the guacamole, salsa version. The coleslaw was quite refreshing although too bland for my tastebuds while the crispy fried fries were a terrible temptation for mindless eating.
In view that it's a fairly new set-up, we'll see whether this place shapes up in time to come. Will be back though for the grilled meats and desserts especially since there's an opening special: 25% off all items and I am a sucker for discounts like this.
