While I am not an ardent fan of museums, do appreciate platforms that showcase works which are rich in history especially if the story is put forward in an engaging manner. With the Christian Lacroix exhibition in town, decided to pay this museum a much overdue visit.
Think I was 'spoilt' by the amazing Kangxi Emperor: Treasures from the Forbidden City exhibition at the Asian Civilizations Museum. With such high expectations, I couldn't help feeling abit disappointed with Christian Lacroix. As pretty as the costumes were, it didn't seem to reflect the additional $8 (per person!) we paid just for this exhibition.
However, the visit was still worthwhile as we got to check out the living galleries encompassing old films, fashion as well as food and this exhibition we chanced upon that showcased the work of various German designers presented through furniture and other accessories. (Note: This is my layman interpretation of what was presented.)
Christian Lacroix the Costumier - The amount of effort that goes into designing relevant and appropriate costumes is quite amazing...

Random exhibition we chanced upon showcasing German designers' work...

Living Galleries for Food - This was my favourite exhibition and it was interesting to learn more about the history of laksa, roti-prata, satay, bak ku teh as well as checking out the old school cooking, eating and drinking utensils...
All in all, a pleasant afternoon spent wandering around and I might even head back to try out the restaurants!
