After reading and hearing so much about that famous black pig, was really glad that I finally made it to
Tampopo at Liang Court.
Pleased to share that the food was indeed worth the hype and I relished every last bite of my deluxe miso ramen. The salty broth was chockful of ingredients I loved ranging from the generous topping of corn, the huge slice of marbled pork to the stewed egg which was suitably runny. *slurps*
Ed's black pig spicy ramen was also a real delight - the slices of tender pork nicely complemented the springy noodles and full bodied broth. The scrumptiousness of the ramen was evident in how quickly the contents were devoured. I also wasted no time in 'helping Ed' to finish up the spicy soup.
Although the Black Pig tonkatsu was alittle pricey, it was expertly fried such that the pork remained moist and yet not too oily. Every mouthful was a delight and definitely droolworthy. *Satiated sighs*
Honestly though, I don't think I can tell whether the black pig is that much better taste wise. However, their meat is supposedly more tender and the menu did state that "their black pigs are stress free". Nevertheless, the place had enough options to keep me interested, black pig or otherwise.
Enough of my raving...the food looked so good, they had to be showcased separately:
Black Pig Toro (spicy ramen) - reminded me of Chinese style stewed pork ribs noodles
Deluxe Miso Ramen - the picture doesn't do justice to the HUGENESS of the portion

Black Pig Tonkatsu - ooodles of goodness
The other interesting aspect about the restaurant was the automated serving of food on conveyor belts when you make an order using their online menu. Unfortunately, our food was all hand delivered and we didn't catch a glimpse of this automated service in action. Guess this is yet another great reason (for me) to return.
Post meal, Ed remarked that my mood had a tendency to be better when I'm full from a good meal. Apparently, he was contemplating how to always keep me this full so that I can do my housework cheerfully. *mutters about terrible other halves*
