After like cleaning and cleaning for the best part of my last two weeks, the furniture FINALLY arrived and the house is now decent enough for welcoming people.
Pleased to update that our furniture selections turned out way better than expected and the first thing Ed and I did was to collapse on our sofa and just stone in front of our 46-inch TV with NEWLY INSTALLED cable. *hoorah*

Really glad that everything fell into place though and there was sufficient space for all the stuff we bought! For awhile, we were quite concerned that we had overdone the furniture buying spree and bought more than we could fit into the house. *phew*
