Ode to Mothers

The appreciation level for my mom has increased post marriage and I have come to marvel at her multi-tasking skills. Looking back, I am amazed at how she always managed to keep the home clean, put wholesome meals on the table, take care of my needs WHILE working part time. And of course having to bear with whiny or sulky children through the years who dash past without really giving her the due appreciation for her efforts.

Perhaps women of her generation were a different breed altogether (or so I like to comfort myself)...but somehow the idea of having to manage household chores (for me) is challenging enough.

Just recently, it occurred to me that there was yet another positive quality I could add on to my "Appreciate Mom" list - thoughtfulness.

One Saturday morning, we received a home delivery service of piping hot beehoon chockful of ingredients (just the way I like it). To top it off, she prepared them in disposable containers and utensils so we would not need to wash up as well as separately packed cut chilli and fried shallots to suit individual preferences.

It really made our day and little wonder we devoured our beehoon with such great gusto. *beams*

It's tough being a mom and when I look at mine, I realise the beauty of unconditional and sacrificial love which I'm still trying to show Ed! Wonder whether there's a mommy training programme I could join to facilitate this process.

P.S Just to pre-empt any funny questions, I am not pregnant. This is just an open-ended comment.
