Bidding Adieu

An ex-cubicle mate decided to take the plunge into a new world. Although we were sad to see her go, I also realised that this was something she had always wanted to do and it would be a good opportunity.

Hence, we decided a cheery farewell was in order and in view of my past ravings, we decided to pig out at Double Bay, finishing off with dessert at OChaCha, this green tea themed cafe:

Mains: Kurobuta pork appetizer, a beef pie as well as beer battered fish and chips.
Desserts: mini cupcakes, green tea tiramisu, green tea and red bean cake

While I do like green tea ice cream or in parfaits (think Sun Moon dining or Ministry of Food), this cafe offers a tad too many green tea offerings for my liking especially in view of my love for variety. My personal favourite though was the mini cupcakes which were deliciously warm and spongy. Nevertheless, the companionship made up for the lacklustre desserts and I'm glad we had that time together.

On her last day, she presented me with a HUMONGOUS mug which was exactly what I have been looking out for. Her thoughtful gift and heartfelt goodbye note was a poignant reminder that work isn't just another 9-6 job. It's a place filled with good memories, wonderful friendships and fun times.

While we all know we won't stop being friends just because she has left STB, I reckon it would not be as easy to call her out for a cuppa or just drop by her cube to chat. Although I will miss all this and more, we all need to move on at some point and this is her time. I'm happy for her. *happily sips from new cup*
